it was good to be home after such a long time for such a long time...6 years i have been out and come home for just week or 10 day long guest visits(not literally)....first it was my engineering in pune, then work stint with hsbc at pune...now MBA down south at Trichy(tamil nadu)...well being at home was just simply wonderful..
i got the opportunity to be at home for 2 months due to my summer internship being at Dabur. the feeling of going home was like "yes finally i get to be home for so long...yippeeeeeeeee" and also scary as "oh my god..how are we all gonna adjust"....i think both the feelings were mutual on my n my folks part...even they had to adjust to my way of living which was like totally independent....seeking some privacy at times...being on my own.....etc etc...
the first week went of just fine without any hitches, arguments etc..everything was hunky dory...but then slowly the trouble started brewing up as the time started going by...my family had a different way of leading their lives and mine was different..say i was someone who used to b up till 2 in the night n get up at 9am or so..but then at home...everyone used to hit the bed by 11.30/12 n be up by 6.30/7..and i had to follow that too..thankfully i joined a gym in the morning..n this sleep time routine started to make sense..lol....
one of the most amazing parts of the stint at home was the awesome time i got to spend with my grandfolks...its just simply amazing to be with them....spend time...chat around...fool around...its something i look forward to whenever i am home...
another thing i had missed alot in the last 6 years was going out for diner with my family..but this time around i think we all made up for the lost time...went to places like embassy(cp)..park baluchi(gurgaon)...china garden(gk)..and the regular once in a blue moon trips to nirulas etc...the food at all these places is just simply awesome...
alongside the all this there were the usual heated bouts at home over issues such as the type of food...the way of living...and what not..but i guess...all of us were prepared that this would happen and we wud tackle the situation somehow(bcos u cant put an emergency plan in place for this)....still it was fun..it was ok..it was family....
one of the highlights of the stay was my trip to amritsar with my folks when i drove down for like 850kms on two days...i wish my younger bro had come but then he had a job interview for a major telecom manufacturing firm in gurgaon..(thank god hes gotten it..congrats bro)...driving down to amritsar on the NH 1 is an amazing experience..anyone whose driven down that highway should know abt tht amazing drive it has to offer...
my summers was progressing alongside at a pretty good pace...my guide and his sales team was fun to work with and learnt a lot from them..there were some good looking interns from institutes such as IMT ghaziabad and SIBM also doing their interns at Dabur....
newaz somehow time passed by...i went to pune n mumbai for 3 days..met most of my old college and work friends...one of my best friends amer...came to delhi..every now n then..it was good to spend time with him..as it is always..hes one of the best dudes arnd....mathur n verma(my skool frnds)...were an amazing company too...met my other best friends also...had a good time all in all....
time passed by and it was again time to go back to college...down south..to the land of idli dosa..sambar vada...lol..and the worst ever drivers...TRICHY...another one yr minimum away from home and then god knows where i ll be heading too.....( i hope its back to delhi...back home).....
