January 26th...we celebrate our Republic Day...a day wen we adopted our constitution and became a republic 3 yrs after gaining our independence....
Republic day to most of us means watching the parade on TV...
lookin at the smart army columns from different regiments march in perfect synchronisation,
looking at the awesome display of defence firepower with the tanks, artillary guns, rocket launching trucks, ballistic missiles etc..
looking at the march pasts of the airforce, the navy , the paramilitary forces...their awesome stunts...n all...its so very amazing..
watching the fly bys by the latest fighter aircrafts, the helicopters, transport aircraft etc..
and finally looking at the cultural tabloids that display the unity n diversity of India....
damn im gonna miss tht all tomorrow...as i ve a class... :(

ya i knw...but wat can i do..its a day long class...frm 10 to 1.30 n then 2.30 to 7....n one subject only..lets see if i get a chance to skip them in between lol

Republic Day to me is the day that dreadful earthquake shook Gujarat, and my hometown, Ahmedabad.
@solitaire..yes i remember that yr...it was such a sad moment..but then we cant do anything abt natural disasters like earthquakes n al....newaz hope u r doing fine :)

hope the Xgen knows why it is celebrated...i have been seeing a lotta youngsters nt even knowin the basic facts abt such days...
and i seriusly think that the parade shud lessen flauntin our militia power and get people involved more...
to me, it is a day that when i salute the soldiers that had laid down their lives to keep us safe...n i definitely salute them!
@sinner...well true..alot of ppl today dont knw the significance of the day...but then...showing the military strength is a tradition...and this is one tradition that binds us militarliy...its more than just a display of firepower...its gotta lot of emotions embedded behind it...thts d soldier in me speaking.. :D

Proud of being Indian and the citizen of largest and only democracy in the world in true sense.....
How many countries can match India s democratic system, no matter we curse the politicians and parties, but yet we have survived for 61 years and going strong.
yeh saddi willpower hegi, saddi strong ambitions henge that we have managed to remain united despite several forces trying to disintegrate us and in the era when many huge gigantic countries disintegrated in long run, we are one.....
