Finally after 4 years, Ratan Tata delivered on his promise of bringing out the car, also known as One lakh ($2500)....The People's Car...
One lakh rupees for a car...wow...when a decent bike in India costs around 45-50k....The idea of the car came from the Indian common man who drives his entire family of 4 on his two wheeler..google for such images n u ll find plenty....The car looks good..can easily accomodate 4 people...comes in 2 versions - standard n deluxe..read abt it here..

the car's made of re-engineered plastics...and uses adhesives instead of welding...it boasts of mileage of 20kms per litre in the city and 26 on the highways ( in India)
well i m sure this car is going to have a global impact...and also register Tata's as a strong auto manufacterer globally..and very soon with the acquisition of Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford..u ll see world class luxury cars from the stable of Tata's...

one more thing abt the car...apparently it doesnt hv AC..wud most ppl in India be able to survive a car ride w.o. AC in that kinda heat?

@keshi..me off to UAE...goin to Dubai...for a family vacation..lol...well i already own a different one...will shift to another one once i start working..or will get a bike...
the car comes in 2 versions..standard n deluxe..the deluxe one has AC in it :)

Well....Tata actually provided India with a breakthrough! but to come to think of it the one lakh car which is oh-so affordable....will give rise to...traffic chaos, parkin problems...
Guess we need another revo..regarding the parkin systems n indian roads....not to forget Indian mentality, which is never ready to shell out money in parkin lots!!!
@sinner...very true..there are pros n cons..lets see how the public..the govt..the industry comes up with a means to tackle the problems of parking...chaos..traffic mgmt n all..its a social issue that we all need to look at :)

@cinn...lol...well yea..yellow was the prototype colour on display..but yes alot of sports variants of cars are in yellow :)
